1Introduction & Scope
Welcome to Bakeroof ("Company", "we", "our", or "us"), operated at bakeroof.com. Bakeroof is a software-as-a-service (SaaS) platform that enables independent bakery owners, patisseries, home bakers, and confectionery businesses ("Merchants" or "Subscribers") to create, manage, and publish online digital storefronts and catalog websites.
This Privacy Policy explains our practices regarding the collection, use, disclosure, storage, and protection of information when you visit our website, subscribe to our SaaS platform, or interact with a merchant storefront powered by Bakeroof.
2Information We Collect
A. Bakery Owner / Merchant Account Data
- Account Information: Name, email address, password, phone number, bakery business name, physical store address, and brand logo.
- Catalog & Storefront Content: Cake and pastry catalog items, pricing, flavor tags, category structures, custom banners, and contact links (WhatsApp number, call number, Google Maps links).
- Billing & Subscription Records: Subscription plan type, billing duration, payment IDs, and transaction metadata. Note: Payment card/UPI numbers are securely processed via Razorpay and never stored on Bakeroof servers.
B. Storefront Customer Data
- Order & Cart Inquiries: Selected cakes, weight/size customization, customer contact name, delivery/pickup notes, and WhatsApp order messages generated for direct merchant communication.
- Device & Analytics Metadata: IP address, browser type, referral URLs, operating system, and general aggregated visit statistics to help merchants understand catalog popularity.
3How We Use Information
We process information only for legitimate business purposes, including:
4Third-Party Integrations & Sharing
We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal or business data to advertisers or third-party brokers. We share data only with verified technical infrastructure providers required to operate our service:
- Payment Gateway: Razorpay Software Private Limited for encrypted payment processing.
- Cloud Hosting & Storage: Secure cloud infrastructure (AWS / Cloudflare / DigitalOcean) for uptime, CDN delivery, and image asset caching.
- WhatsApp (Meta Platforms): When storefront visitors click "Order via WhatsApp", standard WhatsApp messaging protocol is used directly between customer and bakery merchant.
- Legal Compliance: If required by Indian law, judicial decree, or lawful governmental investigation.
5Data Security & Storage
We employ industry-standard security safeguards including TLS 1.3 / SSL encryption in transit, bcrypt password hashing, token-based authentication (JWT), and firewall protection. While we implement rigorous technical precautions, no electronic transmission over the Internet can be 100% immune from unforeseen disruptions.
6Cookies & Local Storage
We use essential cookies and local storage tokens strictly to maintain bakery owner authentication sessions, keep cart items active across storefront pages, and preserve customer theme preferences (e.g., dark/light mode toggle). You can disable cookies in your browser settings, though doing so may impact platform login functionality.
7Your Rights & Data Requests
Bakery merchants have the right to access, modify, export, or permanently delete their bakery storefront, product catalog, and account records at any time directly through the Bakery Dashboard or by contacting support.
